There’s something so incredibly special about elopements that are centered around connection, intention, and simply being fully present together. No pressure. No distractions. Just two people choosing each other in one of the most breathtaking places on earth. This intimate Glacier National Park elopement at 7 Mile Pullout on Lake McDonald was exactly that!
From emotional moments at their cozy cabin in Columbia Falls to dramatic storm clouds rolling through Glacier and ending the evening with portraits at Apgar Village, this day felt nothing short of magical!

The day started at the dreamiest modern cabin in Columbia Falls through STAY Glacier. Tucked away in the trees with warm natural light pouring through the windows, it was the perfect peaceful space for them to spend the morning together before their ceremony. One of my favorite things about intimate elopements is how calm and meaningful the mornings feel.
The bride spent the morning in one room carefully doing her makeup and soaking everything in, while the groom sat quietly in another room reminiscing through photos from throughout their relationship. It was emotional before the day had even officially started! While they enjoyed those slow moments together, I started documenting all of their meaningful details and personal items that made the day uniquely theirs. From handwritten vows to delicate details around the cabin, every part of the morning felt intentional and full of meaning!

After helping the bride into her dress, we stepped outside for their first look. And wow… it was emotional! The second the groom turned around and saw her, his entire face lit up. You could immediately feel just how excited and overwhelmed with happiness he was. There were tears, laughter, shaky deep breaths, and the kind of quiet emotional moments that make elopements feel so incredibly intimate. Nothing felt rushed. Nothing felt performative. It was just them fully soaking each other in.

After their first look, we made our way into Glacier National Park toward 7 Mile Pullout on Lake McDonald for their ceremony. And Glacier definitely decided to add a little drama to the day! As we arrived, dark storm clouds started rolling over the mountains surrounding Lake McDonald. The sky became layered with deep gray clouds streaked with rain in the distance, creating the moodiest and most breathtaking backdrop. Instead of panicking, they embraced it completely.
They stood together surrounded by dramatic rain-filled skies, exchanged vows, and shared the sweetest ceremony overlooking Lake McDonald. And somehow… despite the storm rolling all around us, not a single drop of rain touched us during their ceremony. Right as they shared their first kiss as husband and wife, the rain finally rolled in. Honestly, it could not have been timed more perfectly!

Once the storm passed, Glacier completely changed again! Bright blue skies appeared, the mountains looked even more dramatic, and Lake McDonald reflected the soft evening light beautifully. We spent time exploring 7 Mile Pullout, capturing portraits that felt peaceful, romantic, and completely true to who they are. Every interaction between them felt genuine, which made documenting their connection effortless.
To wrap up the day, we stopped at the Apgar Village dock for a few final portraits. The calm water and soft light created the perfect ending to such an emotional day. Looking back, it felt like we experienced every season in just a few hours, which is part of what makes Glacier National Park so unforgettable.
