Nicole and Luke’s Glacier National Park engagement photos were so dreamy, and it was so fun to capture this playful couple. Something that I love about being a Montana photographer is getting to know my couples, and how their love story started. For Nicole and Luke, their love story begins on Memorial Day of 2019. Luke was living in Boston but was in Chicago with friends from college when he crossed paths with Nicole. They recognized each other and came to the conclusion that they must’ve met in highschool. Their connection was very organic, and they talked from every day there on after.
They later learned that they had actually been friends on Facebook for seven years, but it’s still a mystery as to how they first met. They made long distance work for nine months and flew back and fourth between Chicago and Boston. Once the pandemic hit, Luke moved back to Chicago and got a job in the area. Fast forward four years and Nicole and Luke have a cute little apartment in Chicago. They got engaged in April of 2023, and took a romantic celebratory trip to Paris filled with delicious pastries, wine, and of course, cheese!
I always like to ask couples why they chose to have their engagement photos in Glacier National Park. This is what Nicole said:
“Luke’s family has been coming out to Whitefish, Montana for years now and his brother lives in Missoula. We have visited together a handful of times and have totally fallen in love with both Whitefish and Montana in general – I mean what’s not to love?? We are an extremely active couple, so we really appreciate the endless outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, fly fishing, running the Glacier Half Marathon (this year was our second time), paddle boarding, kayaking, the list goes on! We are always itching to explore and share new experiences together. We find we are at our happiest when we try to live life simply and just focus on the present.
Montana feels like our little safe haven. All of these factors had us strongly considering getting married in Montana but after working through some logistics, we decided it wasn’t realistic to get all of our closest friends and family out to Montana. As a compromise, we decided to take our engagement photos in the beautiful Glacier National Park. We knew this would be another fun, new experience that we could hold near and dear to our hearts forever.”
On top of wanting to know why couples chose to come to Glacier National Park for their sessions, I also like to ask couples what drew them to my work. This is what Nicole shared:
“When picking a photographer for our shoot, I was extremely selective. We had never taken photos together, and we both felt strongly about them looking natural and not too posed. I felt like your photography captured the fun, yet intimate side of couples and no one looked awkward at all! I also really appreciated your photo editing skills – I was looking for a timeless look and that we would love forever. I didn’t want photos that I felt looked over-edited (for example: reducing or adding too much color; I also didn’t want anything that was following too much of a trend with filters and whatnot). Yours were perfect and exactly what I was looking for! We are so grateful for the experience and getting to work with you! We had the best time!”
“Brogan shot our engagement photos in Glacier National Park, and we cannot say enough amazing things about the whole experience! We had such a fun time shooting and she made us feel really comfortable. The photos completely exceeded our expectations! I was also very pleased with how many incredible shots we got and how quickly the photos were turned around! We truly couldn’t be happier to work with Brogan and would recommend her 10/10 times!!!!
