Top 5 Reasons to Elope in the Fall | Glacier National Park Wedding Elopement Photographer

Fall elopement photography in Glacier National Park

March 15, 2023

If you’re anything like me, you know fall is one of the prettiest seasons! From the breathtaking fall colors and beautiful foilage to the mild temp weather, the stunning ceremony sites, and more! So, here are the top 5 reasons why you should consider eloping in the fall if you’re looking into planning your own Glacier National Park wedding elopement!

1 – The Stunning Fall Colors

There are so many gorgeous yellows and oranges and it creates such a different Glacier experience! I’m talking burnt oranges and beautiful golden yellows! Seriously SO pretty. The combination of all of the colors can create such a breathtaking backdrop for elopement photos and the foilage just adds a whole other element and texture! There’s nothing better than a natural backdrop for your elopement photos, and Glacier National Park in the fall will give you exactly that!

2 – A Less Crowded & More Intimate Elopement Experience

When you elope in the fall, you get to beat the crowds during the busy season! It’s definitely less crowded with tourists, school has started back up, and the weather is starting to get cooler! This allows for you to have a more intimate elopement, and who doesn’t want that?! Plus, this makes it so much easier to find a more secluded location for your ceremony site without worrying about the area being packed. You can see we had this beautiful ceremony site during this fall elopement in Glacier National Park all to ourselves. We were able to roam, explore, and get some beautiful photos with the fall foliage! It was so peaceful and intimate.

3 – Better Picks For Your Glacier National Park Wedding Elopement Ceremony Site!

You will have a higher chance of getting the ceremony site you really want because not as many people are eloping in the fall. In the warmer months, it can be incredibly competitive. If you have your heart set on a specific location, you need to plan WAY in advance. We all know that sometimes that’s not always possible. Though I do recommend still planning in advance, eloping in the fall will give you a better chance of getting your dream ceremony site!

4- The Mild Fall Temperatures!

If you’re anything like me, the cooler temps will definitely be a PRO on your list! Fall temperatures will be perfect for your ceremony, so toss the idea of hot, sweaty weather to the wind. Your makeup can stay nice and touched up and you don’t have to worry about sweating it off or smudging it! It’s just a win all around!

5 – Affordable Travel, Lodging, Etc!

If you’re traveling for your Glacier National Park elopement, it will most likely be more affordable because it is “off-season”! In addition, if you’re searching for lodging in or near Glacier National Park, you may also find some less expensive rates because there aren’t as many people as usual! Generally, eloping is much more cost-effective than your average wedding, but eloping in the fall can save you even more! And who doesn’t like to save money and elope in a gorgeous place like this?!

What Are The Cons of a Glacier National Park Elopement in the Fall?

Ok, I know you’re thinking “Alright Brogan, you love a fall elopement, but what are the cons?” The ONLY con I can think of when it comes to eloping in the fall is that it is typically the busiest time of year for photographers. Meaning if you’re wanting a fall elopement, you need to inquire ASAP! It breaks my heart when I have to turn a couple away because I’m already booked for their elopement date. So with that being said, don’t let that happen to you! Get the ball rolling and secure your fall elopement now!

Kind Words From This Beautiful Couple, Caitlin & Wesley

“Brogan was great! We couldn’t recommend her enough. She captured our elopement beautifully. It has been five months and I still catch myself admiring our pictures. We felt relaxed and that we had known her our whole lives. Every time we talk about it, Wes brings up the bug flying into mouth incident. I don’t know if that one will ever be lived down 😂 Every time there is a need for a photographer Wes says “just call Brogan”, fly her to TN. Thank you for your hand and expertise in capturing our perfect day!!”
