1.) A Spring Elopement in Glacier National Park

Spring in Glacier National Park is beautiful. When spring comes, Glacier National Park becomes more alive again. With it’s vibrant colors, cascading waterfalls, and the beauty of the surrounding landscapes as the park comes back to life is truly magical! You can’t go wrong in planning your elopement in GNP during the spring. You’ll also likely run into beautiful wildflowers during this time which can add such a beautiful pop of color into your portraits!

Pro’s of a Spring Elopement:

  • Wildflowers and blossoming vegetation create a colorful and vibrant backdrop. A lot of greens and still some snow in the mountains!
  • Waterfalls start to come alive again providing the sound of rushing water!
  • Mild temperatures make outdoor ceremonies comfortable.
  • Less crowded compared to the summer months.

Cons of a Spring Elopement:

  • Some areas may still have snow, limiting accessibility.
  • Unpredictable weather with the potential of rain or snow.
  • The park isn’t fully open yet so depending on the time you elope, you can either only access Lake McDonald or certain spots of the park that are accessible.

2.) A Summer Elopement in Glacier National Park

Summer in Glacier National Park is captivating! The greenery and colors are even brighter, and the landscapes are clear and stunning! You can expect snow-capped mountains, sparkling lakes, and warm sunshine! If you’re dreaming of a warm, colorful, summer wedding, then having an elopement in Glacier National Park during the summer months is perfect for you!

Pros of a Summer Elopement:

  • Warm temperatures and longer days provide ample daylight for your ceremony.
  • All areas of the park are typically accessible.
  • Lush greenery and clear skies make for stunning photographs.
  • Later summer months allow you to witness some gorgeous wildflowers up on the Going-to-the Sun Road and around the East side of the park!

Cons of a Summer Elopement:

  • Higher chances of crowds as summer is the peak tourist season.
  • Popular locations may be booked or crowded with other visitors.
  • The full park doesn’t open until end of June-mid-July.

3.) A Fall Elopement in Glacier National Park

Fall just so happens to be my personal favorite season for an elopement in Glacier National Park! Hence my blog on “Top 5 Reasons to Elope in the Fall” 😉 The foliage and changing colors are beautiful with the burnt oranges, reds, and yellows! The air is crisp and cool. You can still expect snow capped mountains and slower moving waterfalls, and fall is also the perfect season for a hiking elopement as well with the cool weather. If you don’t mind being a little cold, then the magic wonderland that is Glacier National Park in the winter is worth it! Winter in GNP is truly enchanting! The rugged terrain is covered in a soft white blanket of snow, the atmosphere is tranquil and nature is silent, and the shades of grey and white are beautiful especially against the evergreen trees! Pros of a Winter Elopement:

  • Snow-covered landscapes create a magical and romantic atmosphere.
  • Secluded and peaceful with fewer tourists.

Cons of a Winter Elopement:

  • Limited accessibility to certain areas due to snow and road closures.
